For more than twenty years, Troy has expressed his craft though the design and creation of large scale public art. As co-owner of Gallery 5830’, Troy now offers a local. intimate outlet for his work. Though much of his work is intended for larger scale environments, Troy strives to bring a studio sensibility to his design process.
Troy explains: “Much of the experimentation and prototyping that leads up to the production of large-scale architectural artwork never finds a home, yet, it can be some of the most interesting, because it provides a direct link with the creative process”. Troy has completed projects in a variety of settings, including several indoor & outdoor works for city parks in Reno, Sacramento and San Francisco, library’s in San Jose, Solano County, CA, Bend, OR and the West Sacramento Community Center, for streetscape sculptures in Capitola and Truckee and Rapid Transit Stations in Sacramento, CA, Denver, CO. and Des Moines, IA. Troy has also completed multiple public/ private collaborative projects for commercial institutions such as the Embarcadero Center, Target Co., Kaiser Permanente and the Cleveland Botanical Garden.
Troy graduated from U.C.Davis in 1993 with a BS in Studio Art. There, he studied figure drawing and sculpture.
